Night Camp at Vadhavan Beach
It was in the evening hours on the second Friday of May 2023 that I along with my office colleagues set out on a journey to a quaint little fishing hamlet named Vadhavan. Vadhavan village is situated about 10km north of the famous nuclear power generating town of Tarapur in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the hometown of my colleague Mr. Ulhas Kadu ji who had been insisting for quite sometime that we make this trip to explore his beautiful village and revel in the night camping experience. So our coterie of colleagues comprising myself, Ulhas Kadu ji, Pushpendra Hazari, Vishesh and Vilas Raje ji all nature lovers and passionate travellers finally decided to set camp on the coast of Vadhavan. It was to be a little road trip about 135 km from Mumbai requiring a good 4 hours chugging through the City traffic on a Friday evening.
